This new designation will provide training in the following topics:

·        Understanding the benefits of real estate as an investment

·        What information is needed to analyze a property and where to get it

·        Defining terms – cap rate, gross rent multiplier, cash-on-cash, etc.

·        Analyzing different property types – residential, small office, retail

·        Completing a 5 year projection of ownership

·        Understanding sale versus exchange

·        Importance of understanding some basic property management issues

·        Financing implications of investment property

·        Understanding tax issues related to investment property

This designation will involve several classes, and passing a final examination.
